EDUCATION WEBSITES / LEARNING & MEMBERSHIP
Education website design.
Room for learning to grow.
XINNOTION helps educators, schools and training teams turn course information into a clear website. When the work needs sign-in, controlled course access or administrative workflows, we define and develop a connected platform around those needs.
01 / PLAN & BUILD
Website or platform?
A course business does not automatically need a full learning platform. If the immediate goal is to explain courses and collect enquiries, a focused website may be the simpler starting point. Add platform features when there is a clear workflow to support.
| Your need | Starting point | Decisions to make |
|---|---|---|
| Explain courses and attract enquiries | A course website with course pages, tutors, FAQs and a contact flow. | Who updates the offer? Does enrolment happen through an existing tool? |
| Offer content after sign-in | A membership platform with accounts, roles, access rules and administration. | Is access assigned by course, plan or learner group? Who can change it? |
| Track progress, take payments or run assessments | Compare an existing LMS integration with a custom build. | What already works elsewhere? What data must move? What counts as an accepted delivery? |
02 / PLAN & BUILD
Features & access
These are scoping options, not features automatically included in every package. Start with essential workflows and document the agreed features, data and acceptance criteria.
- Course content: the offer, audience, prerequisites, schedule, tutors and enquiry route.
- Roles: separate learner, tutor and administrator responsibilities, with organization or class management only where needed.
- Content access: course or membership permissions, including server-side checks for private files and downloads.
- Administration: discuss learner lists, course status, notifications and progress workflows before deciding what to build.
- Payments and integrations: assess payment providers, an existing LMS, video hosting and import formats as a defined integration scope.
- Languages and mobile: readable course information on smaller screens and a content structure suited to your audience.
Public course information can be discoverable in search. Learner records, private materials and administration need restricted access. If children use the service, clarify the necessary data and guardian workflow before designing the product.
03 / PLAN & BUILD
Costs & ongoing care
The quotation depends on content pages, accounts and roles, course access, existing data, integrations and administrative workflows. A public course website and a learning platform are different scopes.
- Build: content structure, interface design, agreed functionality, testing and handoff.
- Running costs: domain, frontend hosting, database, files or video delivery, notifications and external services.
- Future work: updates, maintenance and new features are agreed separately. Existing data needs a format and scope review before migration.
Share expected usage, material formats, payment needs and existing tools so we can separate development costs from ongoing costs.

Process & handoff
- Discovery: confirm the audience, enquiry or learning goals, essential workflows, budget and content readiness.
- Content and prototype: review course pages, enquiries, sign-in and key administration flows.
- Development and testing: build the agreed scope and check mobile use, forms, roles and data operations.
- Acceptance and handoff: review a delivery checklist, provide operating guidance and agree future care.
For migration, start with anonymized field examples and review imports, file mapping and account handling. Existing learner passwords and third-party accounts cannot simply be assumed transferable.

Questions
Can we start with a course marketing website?
Yes. Begin with course information, tutor profiles and enquiries, then assess membership or course management when there is a defined need.
Do we need a custom LMS?
Not necessarily. If an existing service already handles learning and course management well, compare integration with custom development before choosing the scope.
Are video, assessments and payments included?
Not automatically. Each has different provider costs, data flows and permissions. The proposal should explicitly list what is included.
Can tutors and learners have different access?
This can be scoped. Define roles, allowed actions and content assignment, then test with different accounts and direct-link access scenarios.
What should we send for an estimate?
Share courses, audience, an existing site or platform, essential functions, usage expectations, languages, budget range and timing. Do not send learner personal data in the initial brief.
