A practical guide to supplier research
A directory is a starting point for sourcing. Use it to discover capabilities, then establish whether a company can meet your particular requirements.
1. Define the physical product
Write down materials, drawings or specifications, quantities, quality requirements, destination and delivery timing. Distinguish the company headquarters from the factory location you need.
2. Compare capabilities and evidence
Use industry, country and product filters. Read the original source alongside the directory summary. A documented product category does not establish production capacity, available stock or authorization to distribute a brand.
3. Confirm identity and current terms
Check the legal company name, current registration and the representative’s authority through independent channels. Request current specifications, certificates where applicable, samples, lead times and written commercial terms.
4. Keep a record of your decision
Record the source and date for each important claim. Reconfirm details before an order, especially where payment details, ownership, specifications or delivery arrangements have changed.
Using Global Supplier
Candidate records still need review. Selected-field source review does not mean the business is a verified member. Joining and submitting a company profile is free; ownership and changes require approval. Network contact access requires an eligible higher membership tier.
